The successful candidate will:
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns (income tax, VAT, WHT, etc.) in compliance
with accounting and tax laws and reporting requirements of the Clients;
- Control preparation and then thorough review of the tax returns and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations and monitor changes in tax legislation and
assess their impact on the organisation.
- Prepare/review documentation and responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Review of the bookkeeping and monthly analysis of the tax accounts, reconciliations as well as
routine tax and accounting-related queries of the Clients
- Leverage technology and software tools to streamline tax reporting and compliance tasks.
- Communicate complex tax issues and strategies to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to junior tax consultants and other team members.
- Keep detailed records of all tax filings and payments to ensure compliance.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as a (tax) accountant or senior (tax) accountant;
- Deep understanding of local tax and labour legislation;
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial data, and analytics;
- Understanding of IFRS and financial statements;
- Proven experience in tax reporting;
- Experience with accounting software (MS Nav is an advantage);
- Advanced MS Excel skills. Power BI and Alteryx knowledge would be considered as an asset;
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant;
- Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA) will be preferred;
- Consulting experience is an advantage;
- Fluency in Azerbaijani, and English. Russian language would be considered an asset;
- Organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
