Australia's new Payday Super rules are now in effect. Employers are required to pay employees' superannuation guarantee (SG) contributions each pay run, rather than making quarterly payments.

Key changes include:
- Super paid with each pay cycle rather than quarterly
- Contributions due to reach the fund within 7 business days of payday
- Continued SG rate of 12%
- New "qualifying earnings" calculation rules replacing the previous ordinary time earnings approach for SG purposes.

Businesses that haven't already prepared should prioritise reviewing payroll software, cash flow processes, and super payment arrangements to ensure compliance.
