PAYDAY SUPER IS COMING – ARE YOU READY?

With the 1 July 2026 Payday Super deadline fast approaching, we want to ensure your business remains compliant and avoids harsh ATO penalties. Late or missing payments will automatically trigger a non-deductible Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC) with daily compounding interest.

WHAT IS CHANGING?

• No more quarterly payments
You must pay employee superannuation at the same time you run your regular payroll (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly).

• Strict 7-day rule
Contributions must be received by the employee's super fund within 7 business days of payday.

• Clearing House closure
The ATO is permanently closing the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) on 30 June 2026.

PREPARATION CHECKLIST:

• Audit Employee Data
Ensure all employee TFNs and super fund details are 100% accurate. System processing delays due to incorrect data can cause you to miss the 7-day payment window.

• Identify Clearing House Alternatives
If you rely on the ATO SBSCH, it's time to choose a SuperStream-compliant payment portal or automated software add-on.

• Test Systems in June
We highly recommend running a trial "payday-frequency" super transfer in June to verify your software configuration before the official legal mandate.

👉 What are PAYG instalments?
They’re regular pre-payments towards your expected tax bill, helping you avoid a big lump sum at tax time.

👉 Why do they matter?
✔️ Keep your tax under control
✔️ Avoid surprises at year end
✔️ Stay on top of your cash flow

📅 Due Date Reminder:
The March quarter instalment is due 28 April.

⚠️ If your income has changed, you may be able to vary your instalment amount – but it’s important to get it right to avoid penalties.
