The rivalry is heating up at Robertson Scannell ahead of Game II, with team loyalties well and truly on display!

On one side, we have the mighty Maroons supporters proudly flying the Queensland colours and confidently predicting another victory. On the other, a brave (some might say optimistic) group of Blues fans holding onto the hope that this will be the game New South Wales turns things around.

The office has already seen plenty of friendly banter, a few questionable predictions, and our Practice Manager Peter having to defend his shirt colour choice today.

With 30 June fast approaching, now is the time to get your tax records in order and make sure you're not leaving anything until the last minute.

A few things to keep in mind for your 2025/26 tax return:

✅ Keep records of all work-related expenses - the ATO continues to focus on substantiating claims.
✅ Working from home? Make sure you have records of your hours worked and supporting documentation for any deductions claimed.
✅ Small business owners may still be able to take advantage of the $20,000 instant asset write-off before 30 June.
✅ Super Guarantee has increased to 12% from 1 July 2025, so ensure your payroll and reporting are up to date.

The best tax outcomes don't happen on 30 June, they happen when you plan ahead.

On Friday, the RS team and clients came together to celebrate two remarkable leaders, mentors and mates as we farewelled Directors Dan Gabbett and Anthony Ahern after a combined 54 years of service to our firm.

Dan has spent 32 years helping clients grow successful businesses, mentoring team members and contributing to the culture that makes RS what it is today. From his unforgettable first day meeting Barry Mahony (and his pipe!) and a young John Littleproud, to the countless Golf Days, Race Days, 30 June celebrations and Christmas parties, Dan has been a driving force behind our "work hard, play hard" spirit. As he embarks on his new advisory-focused venture specialising in strategic planning, leadership and business coaching, we thank him for his incredible contribution and wish him every success.

Anthony's 22-year journey with RS has been defined by genuine relationships, community involvement and his belief that business is always about people first. While he may not remember his first day, he certainly leaves behind a lasting legacy of connection, leadership and plenty of laughs along the way. As Anthony and his family make the move to Bargara for a lifestyle change and more family time (and no, he's not retiring!), we thank him for everything he has contributed to RS and the wider community.

Both Dan and Anthony have helped shape Robertson Scannell into the business it is today. Their leadership, friendship, wisdom and commitment to our clients and team have left an indelible mark on our organisation.

We were proud to sponsor and support the 2026 Leon Treadwell Memorial Golf Day, an incredible community event raising funds for local cancer services and the future Regional Cancer Centre.

RS Administration Officer Emily Treadwell (Leon's daughter), as well as our team of Mark, Jean-Luc, Ken and Cody, enjoyed a fantastic day on the course while helping support a cause that continues to make a real difference across the Darling Downs.
