Government has announced the followong assistance once water subsides
Assistance measures that may be provided to communities include:
Assistance for eligible residents to help meet immediate needs like emergency accommodation and essential items generally provided from evacuation or recovery centres.
Grants for low-income, uninsured residents to replace lost essential household items to maintain basic standard of living.
Grants for low-income, uninsured residents to undertake essential structural repairs to restore their homes to a basic, safe and habitable condition.
Support for affected local councils to help with the costs of cleaning up and restoring damaged essential public assets.
Concessional interest rate loans for small businesses, primary producers, and non-profit organisations and grants to sporting and recreation clubs to repair or replace damaged or destroyed property.
Freight subsidies for primary producers to help transport livestock and fodder.
Financial support towards counter disaster activity undertaken by emergency service organisations to keep communities safe.

To anyone worrying (and im sure you have plenty of other stuff to worry about at the moment) about tax office lodgements for BAS etc just got off phone from ATO and told they have not yet declared a disaster for Taree and surrounds. When they do there will be assistance with ATO stuff.
Will keep you posted when I know more.

Essential tax will be closed next week as we have had 50 cm of water through main part of office. Anything below desk height is gone.
Luckily we had moved some stuff onto desks thanks Leanne so much and have just removed the computers which are unaffected to get them running remotely.
If you call the office you will be diverted to me. If you need assistance let us know. We will do what we can as soon as we can.
Many are in a worse position than us. Our thoughts are with them as we all recover from this flood event.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the floods and we will do what we can to help with recovery and rebuilding. Our office has been destroyed by the floods and we have temporarily moved office space to 132 Victoria Street, Taree (Previously the Walker Legal building). This week we are setting up the new office space and will be up and running by the end of the week. Please send emails regarding any queries and we will get to you as soon as possible.
