For the last 5 days, Jack and our boys have embarked on a massive challenge. We’ve been posting updates on our stories, but realise that not everyone watches these. So here’s a little post to catch you all up!
As part of Nedd Brockman’s Uncomfortable Challenge, Jack committed to running 10 Olympic distance triathlons over 10 days. Each day, this would mean he would swim 1.5km, cycle 40km, and finish off with a 10km run.
He has completed 5 days thus far, with his efforts equating to a huge 7.5km in the pool, 200km on the bike, and 50km pounding the pavement already. This afternoon, for Day 6, he will be doing it all again to keep that km tally moving upwards!
By the end of this 10-day challenge, he will have totalled 15km of swimming, 400km of riding, and 100km of running.
This coming Tuesday is the final day, and I’d like to make sure we can help him finish with a bang. So far, he’s raised $4033 for Mobilise, an incredible organisation dedicated to tackling homelessness in Australia.
Naturally, our three boys couldn’t watch their dad have so much fun without joining in. So they created their own fundraising page, with Byron (age 11) pledging to run 5km each day, and Ollie (age 9) and Moby (age 6) deciding on a very respectable 3km. Even our littlest, Indigo (age 4), has been participating each afternoon (in whatever bits and pieces she chooses, being the boss of our family!)
The boys have raised a total of $709, with grand plans to surpass theirs dad’s efforts and pip him at the final post.
We are just blown away with all of the support thus far. So many people wide and far have gotten behind our little family and helped contribute towards a cause very close to our hearts.
Thank you seems so inadequate, but THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’m sure we will have a more articulate summary of our gratitude when all of this is over 🤍
We’ve got a sensational community following along on our page here. Let’s get this 👏🏼 If you’d like the link to donate to either or both pages, please just send us a message
