While You Were Here Superannuation Refund…What’s That??? Most backpackers who visit Australia for a year or two get jobs on a Pay As You Go basis.

Save money while travelling Australia, get help finding jobs, filing tax returns and receive up to $3000 when you leave Australia from your Superannuation refund. The employer legally had to pay Superannuation into an account similar to a savings account on your behalf at the rate of 9.5% of your earnings.
