NSW has recorded 478 new cases of locally-acquired COVID-19 cases and seven deaths.
The latest results of the state's outbreak come from 157,000 tests, recorded until 8pm last night.
The news comes as tightened lockdown rules come into force across much of Greater Sydney in a fresh attempt to slow the spread of the Delta variant.
