⚠️ Don’t rush to lodge your tax return too early

A quick reminder for everyone getting ready for tax season: it’s often better to wait until your information is fully updated before lodging.

Please wait until your Tax Ready / pre-fill information is complete because employers have until mid-July to submit their final payroll figures to the ATO, and in some cases submissions can extend until 31 July.

Other information may also take time to appear, including:
✅ Bank interest
✅ Shares/dividends information
✅ Private health insurance details

Lodging too early may mean missing information in your return, which could result in the ATO contacting you later and asking you to amend your tax return.

A little patience can save you time, stress, and extra work later on. Better to lodge correctly than lodge quickly. 🙂
