The digital economy didn't come with a tax guide. But the ATO has plenty to say about it.

Crypto transactions, influencer income, crowdfunding, and start-up tax rules — these are areas that trip up even experienced practitioners, not because the rules are hidden, but because they're newer and less familiar.

Karen Vella's Tax Issues for Millennials Masterclass covers how these products and platforms actually work, and the tax issues that follow.

It covers:
✅ Crowdfunding and the tax issues that arise
✅ Cryptocurrency transactions, including sales, trades, exchanges, chain splits, and airdrops
✅ Influencer income and the tax treatment of goods and services received
✅ Special tax rules for start-ups and founders
✅ And much, much more...

TR 2025/D1 fundamentally reshapes how rental property deductions are assessed. For accountants advising property investors, understanding this ruling isn't optional — it's the difference between a client keeping their deductions and losing them.

This webinar unpacks everything you need to know before the ATO's position becomes settled law.

✅ Why TR 2025/D1 replaces IT 2167 and why that matters
✅ The ATO's new focus on "genuine income-producing purpose"
✅ When interest, rates & repairs can now be denied
✅ The new treatment of holiday homes & Airbnb properties
✅ How apportionment rules are tightening
✅ Real-world examples and case comparisons
✅ Key court decisions underpinning the ATO's position

Session 1 starting tomorrow!

The AML/CTF Act requires every person performing AML functions to be trained before they do so — not alongside it, not shortly after. Before. Tomorrow is the last opportunity to get Session 1 done before obligations commence on 1 July.

Session 1 covers everything client-facing staff need to handle from day one — onboarding a new client correctly, completing the CDD file note, verifying individuals and entities, identifying beneficial owners in trust and company structures, and handling the situations that don't have an obvious answer: the lost trust deed, pre-commencement clients, registered office clients.

Session 2 follows on 1 July — covering red flags in practice, escalation, the tipping-off rule, suspicious matter reports, and record keeping as a daily habit.

One hour each. A training register maintained for every attendee. Tomorrow is Session 1 — register your team today.

✅ Superannuation Fund Annual Return Instructions (229 pages)
✅ Partnership Tax Return Guide 2026 (196 pages)
✅ Company Tax Return Guide 2026 (311 pages)
✅ Capital Gains Tax Manual 2026 (254 pages)

Each guide is available as a PDF or a PDF + printed hard-copy bundle delivered to your door. Or grab the full 6 Guide Bundle and have every return type covered.

Most accountants know Employee Share Schemes exist.

Far fewer have worked through what they actually mean for the clients sitting across the desk from them right now.

ESS isn't just for ASX-listed companies handing out options to executives. The rules apply to small business too — and the structuring questions that come with them are more complex than most people expect. Sole traders, partnerships, discretionary trusts — each one brings its own set of challenges when equity is on the table.

That's one of the reasons the July Tax Training Day is shaping up to be a particularly useful day. Karen Vella spends three hours on Employee Share Schemes — covering startup concessions, shares vs options, loan funded share purchases, flowering share plans, phantom share plans, and when a restructure is worth considering.

I'll be working through the ATO's detailed Business Real Property ruling, which SMSF clients and their accountants need to understand properly before any related party property transaction. And Karen rounds out the day with a three-hour Quarterly Tax Update.

Seven CPD hours. A room full of practitioners who value the detail. And after-event drinks to close the day out well.

AML obligations commence 1 July. Session 1 of our staff training program is 12 days away.

Most firm principals have spent time getting across their own AML obligations. Getting staff trained is the next step — and it needs to happen before obligations commence, not after.
The AML/CTF Act is clear: every person performing AML functions must be trained before they do so. These two one-hour sessions are built to take care of that obligation without pulling your team off client work for a full day.

Session 1 on 24 June covers client onboarding from scratch — CDD file notes, individual KYC, company and trust KYB, lost trust deeds, pre-commencement clients, and registered office clients. Session 2 on 1 July covers the harder situations — red flags, escalation, the tipping-off rule, suspicious matter reports, and record keeping as a daily habit.

A training register is maintained for every attendee. Register your team now while spots are available.
