Devastating floods have impacted communities across Nepal, and many people living in Australia are looking for ways to support relief efforts back home.

If you are donating from Australia, your generosity can also be tax-effective:

Verify DGR Status: Ensure the charity is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Use Official Channels: Donate directly through verified organisations to ensure funds reach those in need safely.

Keep Your Receipts: Retain transaction receipts to claim eligible deductions at tax time ($2 or more).

Every contribution makes a real difference to those on the ground. ❤️🇳🇵🇦🇺

General information only. Check official ATO guidelines or consult a registered tax agent regarding your personal tax deductibility.

Just because you paid for it doesn’t automatically make it tax-deductible! 💼❌

As you get ready for the 2025–26 tax season, make sure your claims meet the ATO's golden rules:

📁 Work-related: Directly tied to earning your income
🧾 Properly documented: Supported by valid receipts or records
✅ Eligible: Not claimed elsewhere or reimbursed by your employer

Don’t risk an audit or miss out on deductions you're actually entitled to. Let a registered tax agent handle it for you.

Are you claiming work-related car expenses this tax season? Knowing which method to use can make a big difference to your refund:

🚗 Cents-per-Kilometre Method: Claim 88¢ per km (up to a maximum of 5,000 business km). Simple, with no logbook required, though you must be able to show how you calculated your distance.
🚗 Logbook Method: Claim actual work-related expenses based on a valid 12-week logbook percentage. Great for higher business travel or significant vehicle running costs.

Not sure which option maximizes your return? Let’s get your tax return right.

Working from home this financial year? Make sure you’re claiming every cent you’re entitled to—without making common deduction mistakes! 📊

If you’re using the fixed-rate method (70¢ per hour), remember that it already bundles key running expenses such as electricity, internet, mobile usage, and stationery. Claiming these separately on top can lead to ATO red flags for double-claiming.

Let our registered tax agents handle the details so you get the maximum, compliant refund.

💰 Could some of the **$21 billion in lost super** be yours?

The ATO says billions in lost and unclaimed super are waiting to be reunited with Australians.

It only takes a few minutes to check whether you have super you may have forgotten about or lost track of.

👉 Check your lost super through the ATO and make sure your retirement savings are where they belong.

**Do you engage independent contractors in your business?**

Having an ABN, sending invoices, or being called a “contractor” doesn’t automatically mean super isn’t payable.

If you’re paying a contractor mainly for their **own labour, personal effort and skills**, you may have super obligations.

Where super applies, contributions must be:
✅ Paid for each payday
✅ Received by the contractor’s super fund within **7 business days after payday**

Understanding your obligations early can help your business stay compliant and avoid unexpected super liabilities.

Not every big-screen purchase automatically qualifies as a business expense. 📺💼

For an expense to generally be deductible, there should be a genuine connection between the purchase and earning business income. If an asset like a TV is used for both business and private purposes, only the business-use portion may be relevant, and good records matter.

So while “it displays spreadsheets” makes a great argument for the office comedy reel… the real question is: how is it actually being used in the business? 😄

Keep receipts, document the business purpose, and make sure your claim reflects the actual business use.
