It’s my birthday today 🎁

Two weeks ago I was having my appendix taken out in an emergency surgery.

One week ago I got on a plane to the Gold Coast to run with

Since then we’ve run a festival for 100 people and a retreat for 24 women who are members of our paid communities.

Maybe unsurprisingly, I now have a nasty cold.

So I’m spending my birthday holed up in an apartment in my fave Burleigh Heads while I get myself well enough to head home to Melbourne.

I can’t keep up 🤦🏻‍♀️

What I know is that I love small business, bringing people together, and creating impact. And I need to rest for the next 20 years 😴

The last week has not been the prep for I was hoping for.

Instead of down time, I had an emergency appendectomy.

What started with stomach pains, turned into scary AF fevers where I think I was hallucinating, and landed me at Footscray hospital to see what was wrong 🤒

My appendix had already burst. And I spent the next 48 hours in the incredible (but scary as hell) care of the top shelf health professionals at Footscray Hospital.

Our healthcare workers are the best people on our planet. And I’ve never felt so grateful for free public healthcare as this last week.

I’ve been thoroughly taken care of by my family and friends since at home 🏡

And my business was in great hands too. My assistant .art stepped up and kept my clients on top of all comms. She kept my podcast episodes up to date and me calm.

My incredible members stepped in at a moment’s notice to run Good Money Club sessions (and slayed!). My social media manager .social.media didn’t miss a beat.

My bio was ever present. The excellent helped with ripple prep and company. Jaye from Stitch Strategy helped with ripple prep and delivered nourishing meals.

Now. I’m in an uber on my way to the airport and bound. I just had my first real shower in over a week

Ripple is going to look a little different for me, but I am bringing everything I’ve got.

Some of the conversations we had inside Good Money Club this week felt very real.

Lacking motivation.
The juggle of school holidays.
And the reality of trying to get support in your business.

These aren’t strategy problems.

They’re the day-to-day realities of running a small business.

When motivation is low, it’s easy to wait for the right moment. But what actually builds motivation is action. Confidence comes from action too, and over time that turns into momentum.

The school holidays bring a different kind of pressure. Wanting to be present with your kids while also knowing your business still needs you. There’s no perfect way to balance it, but giving yourself permission to do less and to do it well can make a big difference.

And when it comes to support, it’s easy to say “just outsource it.” But doing that well takes thought. It’s not just about handing over tasks, it’s about creating space for better thinking, better decisions, and ultimately a better business.

These are the kinds of conversations we’re having every week inside Good Money Club.

Practical. Honest. And focused on building businesses that actually work.

When you want your clinic designed by someone who truly gets it.

Mel Williams x Kate Forsyth

Long-term Good Money Club member Melissa Williams from recently took on a lease for a new building, double the size of her current integrated care clinic. She wanted a space designed by someone who understood how she wanted people to feel when they walked in, while also being practical and functional.

Of course, we connected her with Good Money Club OG Kate Forsyth from an incredible interior designer for commercial spaces and events. Kate works beautifully with colour, understands how spaces shape emotions, and is a true spatial wizard.

These two clever women (along with Mel’s business and life partner, Fitzy!) collaborated to create a clinic that is beautiful, considered, fun and calm-inducing.

Seeing members work together like this is one of my favourite parts of Good Money Club. I loved watching these powerhouses bring something special to life.
