Having a company or trust doesn’t automatically mean your income will be treated as business income.

If most of your income comes from your personal skills, knowledge or effort, the Personal Services Income rules may apply. This is particularly relevant to consultants, contractors, engineers, medical professionals, designers and tradies.

To qualify as a Personal Services Business, you generally need to satisfy at least one of four tests:

✅The business premises test
