‼️Attention clients‼️
Dear Valued Clients,
We have become aware that a client has recently had their personal MyGov account hacked, with the hacker subsequently lodging a fraudulent tax return for 2025 and having the refund directed into the hacker’s bank account. To protect yourself from this type of fraud, please make sure to:
Ensure all your identifying information, such as driver’s licence details, medicare number, passport details, etc are kept secure and not divulged to any third parties that are not secure.
Ensure you enable 2 factor authentication on any government accounts, such as Service NSW, that hold your personal details
Ensure you change your passwords regularly and keep them secure
Most importantly, if you receive an email regarding a login from a new device to your MyGov account, and you have not recently logged in with a new device, change your MyGov password immediately and call the MyGov helpdesk on 132307
Although none of the above can guarantee against identity theft, it will aid in reducing your risk. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
Kind regards,
QuantumX
