‼ Payday Super Changes Are Coming ‼

From 1 July 2026, the rules for how employee super is calculated, paid and reported are changing under the new Payday Super laws.

This mean employers will be required to pay super each pay cycle rather than paying it quarterly. Employee super must reach their super account within 7 business days from payday failure to comply with the new Payday Super laws may lead to penalties.

We recommend using XERO auto super due to it's ability to integrate with payroll making the process simpler.

Tax Time things to put on your To-Do List (Please Don’t leave it to June 😅)

1. Gather your documents early
Receipts, Log Books, Home Office, Deductions, etc —get it all organised now, you will thank yourself later!

2. Review your logbooks (if claiming car expenses)
If it’s been a while, now’s a good time to update or start a new one.
Don't forget to claim you need to have odometer readings and used the log book for 12 weeks!

3. Top up your super (if it makes sense)
Personal contributions before 30 June can reduce tax.

4. Book your tax appointment early in our Medowie or Newcastle offices with one of our tax agents. - Avoid the July rush or book in early. (Please remember to make note of rentals, investments and other non standard things when booking to ensure its as stress free as possible).

5. Come to your appointment prepared, do your tax and go home and forget about it until we remind you next year.

6. Wait for the Tax Man - In busy periods wait times may be a little bit longer to receive your return as the ATO is busy, busy, busy!
