호주 자본이득세(CGT) 법안이 1985년 9월에 도입되어 40주년을 맞았습니다. 이 법은 하크/키팅 정부 시절에 제정되었으며, 이후 여러 중요한 변화를 겪었습니다. 특히 1990년대 초 헤플스(Hepples) 사건에 대한 대법원 판결을 계기로 CGT 법이 대폭 수정되었고, 'CGT 이벤트'라는 개념이 도입되었습니다. 이로 인해 1990년대 후반에는 전체 소득세법이 평이한 영어로 다시 쓰이기도 했습니다. 이처럼 많은 발전을 거듭해온 자본이득세의 40번째 생일을 축하합니다. 🥳

세금 환급 신청전 Medicare levy 면제 신청 자격이 되는지 확인하세요 😝

You might be exempt from paying the 2% Medicare levy, but you need proof.

If you’re not eligible for Medicare and don’t get Medicare benefits, you need to apply for a Medicare Entitlement Statement (MES) from Services Australia.

You need the statement before you lodge your tax return.

⏰ It can take up to 8 WEEKS, so apply ASAP! No MES = No exemption.

To be eligible for a Medicare levy exemption, you and all your dependents, including your spouse, need to be exempt. This means your spouse may also need to apply for their own MES.

기부금 (Donation)의 세금공제를 위해서는 다음 사항을 참고해 주세요.🧐
1) 공제 가능 기부금 수령인(DGR)에게 기부: 기부금은 반드시 DGR로 등록된 단체에 이루어져야 합니다.
2)순수한 기부: 대가 없이 순수한 금전 또는 재산의 기부여야 합니다. 개인적인 혜택(예: 복권 티켓, 클럽 회원권)을 받는 기부는 공제 대상이 아닙니다.
3) 특정 기부 조건 준수: 기부 유형에 따라 특정 규칙이 적용됩니다.
4) 현금 (Money) 또는 재산 (Property) 기부가 되어야 합니다.
★ 모든 세금 공제 대상 기부금에 대한 기록(영수증 또는 DGR의 서명된 서신)을 보관하는 것이 중요합니다

FY2025 tax return 에 대해서 호주 국세청(ATO)과 CPA Australia는 세금 환급을 서두르지 말 것을 요청하고 있습니다.
너무 일찍 신고하면 오류를 범하거나 합법적인 공제를 놓칠 위험이 있으며, 결국 나중에 수정해야 할 수도 있기 때문이라고 합니다.
ATO는 은행 이자, 배당 소득, 정부 기관 지급액, 건강 보험 정보 등 대부분의 정보가 자동으로 채워지는 7월 말까지 기다릴 것을 권장하고 있습니다.
ATO는 이번 세금 신고 기간에 업무 관련 비용, 재택근무 공제, 복수 소득원 등 자주 실수하는 부분에 집중할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) : 급여이외에 비현금 혜택에 대해 과세를 하는 세금입니다. 특히 회사차량의 사적사용, 식사등 엔터테인먼트 비용, 숙소제공등이 대상입니다. FBT 회계연도는 매년 4월 1일부터 3월 31일까지입니다. 신고마감기한은 5월 21일입니다.

A Perth man has been sentenced to 2 years in jail for dealing with the proceeds of crime (GST fraud) of over $377,000.

As part of Operation Protego, we have taken action against more than 57,000 alleged offenders and issued around $300 million in penalties and interest for GST fraud.

‘If you engage in GST fraud, you’re taking away funds that could be used on services that benefit the community such healthcare, infrastructure and education,’ Deputy Commissioner John Ford said.
