Running a business without understanding your financial statements is like driving without a dashboard. You’re moving, but you don’t really know how you’re performing.

In our latest blog, we break down the three key financial statements every business owner should be familiar with: your Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement. Each one plays a crucial role in helping you understand your performance, position, and cash health.

If you want to make more informed decisions and feel more in control of your business finances, this is a great place to start.

PAYG instalments play a critical role in managing your tax obligations throughout the year. However, relying on prior-year figures without review can result in cash flow inefficiencies or unexpected liabilities.

With changing business conditions, it’s important to regularly assess whether your instalments remain appropriate.

In our latest blog, we outline:
• When to review your PAYG instalments
• Circumstances where varying may be appropriate
• Key compliance considerations to avoid ATO interest and penalties
• Practical guidance to help you stay on track

A proactive approach can help ensure your tax position accurately reflects your current financial performance.

“We’re making a profit… so why does cash still feel tight?”

If you’ve ever had that thought, you’re definitely not alone. It’s something we hear from business owners all the time.

The reality is, profit, cash, and taxable income are three very different numbers. They don’t move together, and they don’t tell the same story. That’s why things can feel confusing, even when your business is doing well.

We’ve put together a simple, practical article to help explain how each one works, with real examples to make it easier to understand.

If this is something you’ve been trying to make sense of, this is a great place to start.
