The W**e Equalisation Tax (WET) producer rebate is one of the most valuable tax concessions available to Australian wineries, with a maximum of $400,000 per financial year from 1 July 2026. Eligible producers can claim on cellar door, online direct-to-consumer and wholesale sales provided all four eligibility tests are met.

Government offers draft concessions on the new 30% trust tax

The Federal Government has released draft legislation that may allow existing discretionary trusts to fall outside the proposed 30% minimum trust tax due to commence from 1 July 2028.

While the legislation remains in draft form, the proposed concession could provide relief for many family groups and business owners currently operating through discretionary trusts.
