"Attention all superannuation account holders! There have been some recent changes to superannuation that you need to be aware of. Firstly, from July 1, 2022, the Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rate will increase from 10% to 10.5%. This means that your employer will be required to contribute an additional 0.5% of your salary to your superannuation account.

Additionally, the government has also announced that it will be scrapping the $450 per month threshold for receiving superannuation contributions. This means that all employees will be entitled to superannuation contributions, regardless of how much they earn.

Lastly, the government has announced that it will be increasing the maximum amount of voluntary contributions that can be made to superannuation. From July 1, 2022, the annual concessional (before-tax) contribution cap will increase from $27,500 to $30,000, while the non-concessional (after-tax) contribution cap will increase from $110,000 to $115,000.

These changes are designed to help Australians save more for their retirement. If you have any questions about how these changes may affect your superannuation account, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us."

Financial planning Tip of the week!!!
Have you consolidated all of your super accounts?? do you understand how all of the investment options work in your superannuation?? Is your insurance worth the money you pay for it??
These are some questions that need to be answered if building a substantial superanuation balance is one of your long term financial Goals.
One of the Main complaints I hear from clients is that all of their superannuation is being eaten up in fee's. These clients commonly have a few different accounts, multiple insurance policies and in general don't have much of an idea about how the funds are invested. To achieve a balance that is going to improve your lifestyle in retirement these things need to be taken seriously. At the end of the day, it is your money and it needs to be looked after. If you were to save 9.5% of your income into an account that you had access to, I guarantee you would know exactly, down to the dollar, how much was in that account.
We generally help our clients get on track, consolidate accounts for them, review insurances, explain how the investments work and show them ways to boost one of the most important assets they will acquire in their lifetime.
If you would like to get some help getting your superannuation on track please give us a call on - 07 55806135.

Financial Planning Tip Of the week!!
Self Managed Superannuation Funds; One of the main topics that come up when talking to people about superannuation is the setup of a Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF). The structure of an SMSF and the setup is an especially difficult one for beginners. The benefits of SMSF however, can include purchasing a residential Investment property inside of superannuation. Another benefit would include the increased range of products that are available form term deposits, Managed funds and direct shares. Although these benefits are available, it is highly recommended that you seek help from a licenced Financial Adviser as in my time I have seen a few train wrecks that have been caused by inexperienced people attempting complex strategies without the expertise to do it properly. SMSF is a complex strategy at the end of the day. This article was written by Peter Clark - 0755806135
