Great news — another SMSF residential LRBA has been formally approved!

A reminder for trustees: the final deadline for residential LRBA is 10 August 2026 under the Government’s new tax reform legislation.

If you’re planning to borrow under your SMSF using your full balance without keeping a 5% cash reserve, you may be eligible to borrow up to 80% LVR, depending on lender criteria. Feel free to reach out.

If you miss the deadline, no stress. You can still use an LRBA to purchase commercial property, and if you operate a business, your SMSF can even lease the premises back to your own business, which remains fully permitted under current rules.
