Had a nice lunchtime discussion with an old friend from Malaysia and the point about a hamster wheel came up signifying what we go through.

It poignant because I said we alll are on different hamster wheels. Some wheels are busier some squeak less.

But over time for each generation it gets better and easier.

This year YBR Gladesville is taking some time off becoming a temporary digital nomad. We are contactable via email, Zoom, mobile phone, Whatsapp and Messenger from 20/12/2022 to 28/12/2022.

Meanwhile our related lender, Resi Mortgages released a monthly LMI option for clients who would like to borrow above 80% of the value of the property. The option is for a qualifying customer to pay LMI on a monthly basis and stop when the loan is at 75% LVR. Works for some clients who have good income but not enough for a large deposit.

Monthly instalments means borrowers can buy property sooner

It's Diwali / Deepavali! I hope all my Hindu friends and clients a Happy Festival of Lights.

When I grew up in Malaysia, the celebration is a public holiday that is today. What I didn't know is that it is a 5 day event. Even today I am still learning more about the culture of my friends.

Faith, food, fireworks, family and charity are honoured on the five days of Diwali.

This is a great reason why having a paid off property matters for many of my clients. A bit technical but the gist is:

" A homeowner receiving a full pension and access to home equity should not literally ‘run out of money’."

A retired couple with up to $419,000 in assets plus a family home can receive a full age pension of $40,000 a year (worth maybe $1 million) plus many other benefits. With home equity access, money should not run out.
