A little rain wasn’t going to stop Jo and Jaden! 🌧️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

On Sunday 20 September, they pulled on their runners and took on the ECS Fun Run, with Jo tackling the 5km and Jaden taking on the 10km.

And when we say it was wet… it was wet. 😂

They pushed through the conditions, crossed the finish line and did a fantastic job supporting an event that raised more than $9,000 for Esperance Community Services.

They came away with a great effort under their belts and some very soggy shoes. Thankfully, the shoes have finally dried out and are back in action!

We were proud to support this year’s ECS Fun Run and even prouder to have Jo and Jaden out there representing Smith Shearer.

Well done to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered and helped make the day happen. 👏

A quick update for our SMSF clients.

The way we request and gather some SMSF information may start to look a little different as we introduce Karbon into the process.

You may notice changes to how requests are sent or how information is provided, but there is nothing you need to prepare for in advance.

Our team will guide you through what is needed and is still available if you have any questions along the way.

We will share more information as the process is introduced.

Harvest is busy enough without having to hunt for important information when something unexpected comes up.

Before the season gets underway, it can be worth checking that someone else in the business knows where to find the key details if the usual decision-maker is unavailable.

That might include important contacts, bank access arrangements, entity documents, insurance information and payroll records.

It does not need to be complicated. The aim is simply to make sure the right information can be found quickly, by the right people, when it is needed.

A little preparation before harvest can make things much easier when everyone is already flat out.

A lot of regional business still comes down to relationships.

Knowing who is around, having people you can call and being able to share what is happening locally can make a real difference.

30 years of Smith Shearer 🎉

This year marks a pretty special milestone for us, 30 years since Smith Shearer first opened its doors in 1996.

We took a little time to celebrate with the team, enjoy plenty of good food, and reflect on the many people, families and businesses we’ve had the pleasure of working with along the way.

A big thank you to our clients and the wider Esperance community for your support over the years. We’re proud to be part of this community and very grateful to have reached 30 years alongside you.

And a special thank you to 's Sweets for making our fantastic 30th anniversary cake. It looked great and tasted even better! 🎂
