Div 296 tax on large super fund balances has passed parliament and comes into effect from 1 July 2026.
If you have a SMSF super balance over $3mil, there may be strategies to look at before 30 June.

Please be aware that the ATO will not have all the information for you to prepare your tax return until later this month, so are suggesting waiting until the end of July to avoid amendments being required.

This year's budget is being delivered at one of the most pivotal points in recent history, yet the federal government has been tempering expectations that there won't be much worth writing home about.
