🌟Key Dates - June 2026🌟

The final month of the 2026 tax year is here! As the financial year wraps up, there are several important deadlines to keep in mind.

🗓️5 June – Lodge tax returns due for individuals and trusts with a lodgment due date of 15 May 2026, provided any liability is also paid by this date.

🗓️5 June – Lodge tax return for companies and super funds with a lodgment due date of 15 May 2026, provided both the prior year and current year returns will be non-taxable or result in a refund. This is a concessional arrangement rather than a standard lodgment due date.

🗓️21 June – Lodge and pay May 2026 monthly Business Activity Statement.

🗓️25 June – Lodge and pay 2026 Fringe Benefits Tax annual return for tax agents if lodging electronically.

🗓️30 June – Super guarantee contributions must be paid by this date to qualify for a tax deduction in the 2025–26 financial year.

🗓️30 June – If you receive Child Care Subsidy or Family Tax Benefit payments from Services Australia, both you and your partner must lodge your 2024–25 tax returns by this date, regardless of any deferrals in place.

🌟Key Dates - May 2026🌟

With the end of the tax year fast approaching, May is a busy month for lodgements and payments. Here’s what to keep in mind.

🗓️15 May – Lodge 2025 tax returns for all entities that did not have to lodge earlier (including all remaining consolidated groups) and are not eligible for the 5 June concession. This is also the due date for companies and super funds to pay if required. Individuals and trusts in this category pay as advised on their notice of assessment.

🗓️21 May – Lodge and pay April 2026 monthly Business Activity Statement.

🗓️21 May – Final date to add new FBT clients to your client list to ensure they receive the lodgment and payment concessions for their fringe benefits tax returns.

🗓️21 May – Lodge and pay Fringe Benefits Tax annual return if lodging by paper.

🗓️26 May – Lodge and pay eligible quarter 3, 2025–26 activity statements if lodging electronically.

🗓️28 May – Lodge and pay quarter 3, 2025–26 Superannuation guarantee charge statement if the employer did not pay enough contributions on time. Employers who lodge a Superannuation guarantee charge statement can choose to offset contributions paid late against their super guarantee charge for the quarter.

🌟Key Dates - April 2026🌟

As we move into the final quarter of the 2026 tax year, there are a few key dates to keep on your radar this month.

🗓️21 April – Lodge and pay quarter 3, 2025–26 PAYG instalment activity statement for head companies of consolidated groups.

🗓️21 April – Lodge and pay March 2026 monthly Business Activity Statement.

🗓️28 April – Lodge and pay quarter 3, 2025–26 activity statement if lodging by paper.

🗓️28 April – Pay quarter 3, 2025–26 instalment notice (forms R, S or T). Lodge the notice only if you are varying the instalment amount.

🗓️28 April – Due date for super guarantee payments for the January – March 2026 quarter. Failure to pay on time requires you to lodge a Superannuation guarantee charge statement by 28 May and to pay the (non-deductible) Super Guarantee Charge.

🗓️30 April – Lodge TFN report for closely held trusts if any beneficiary quoted their TFN to a trustee in quarter 3, 2025–26.

🗓️30 April – Lodge lost members report for the period 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2025.

As we head towards the end of the March quarter, there are a few key lodgements to keep in mind this month.

🗓️21 March – Lodge and pay February 2026 monthly Business Activity Statement.

🗓️31 March – Lodge tax return for companies and super funds with total income of more than $2 million in the latest year lodged (excluding large and medium taxpayers), unless the return was due earlier. Payment for companies and super funds in this category is also due by this date.

🗓️31 March – Lodge tax return for the head company of a consolidated group (excluding large and medium taxpayers) with a member who had total income exceeding $2 million in their latest year lodged, unless the return was due earlier. Payment for companies in this category is also due by this date.

🗓️31 March – Lodge tax return for individuals and trusts whose latest return resulted in a tax liability of $20,000 or more (excluding large and medium trusts). Payment for individuals and trusts in this category is due as advised on their notice of assessment.
