Financial Coach - Amy Bajada www.amybajada.com Whilst I wasn't the first to coin the phrase "Knowledge is power", they are words I live by.

And as such, I have made it my mission to connect business owners with economic freedom through financial education. Drawing upon over 20 years corporate experience, I have developed financial programs and resources that challenge the stigma attached to the complexity of understanding financial data, to simplify and financially elevate business owners to build the business of their dreams. Words can acknowledge impact — but behaviour is what rebuilds trust.

In business, real accountability looks like:
• consistency over time
• changed patterns
• follow-through without reminders

An apology is a starting point.
It’s not the finish line.

Pay attention to what happens after the apology.
That’s where the truth lives.

💬 What behaviour do you now look for instead of accepting words alone?

My competitor charges less than I do, should I reduce my rates?

Short answer .. a hard no. This should never be the reason you reduce your rates, EVER!. I understand the need to remain competitive, but I understand the need to stay in business more. And in order to stay in business your pricing needs to be right for your business first and foremost.

In short, you don't know what it's costing your competitor to run their business, and nor should you. You should stay in your lane, but know that your costs may not be the same as your competitor and therefore if you just copy them, you may find yourself not covering your own costs, which leads to cash erosion, which leads to closing the doors.

Be sure to know your breakeven point first and then work on pricing your goods or services competitively. If this still doesn't match your competitor, adjust your marketing plan to demonstrate just how much value your product or service has.

You don't have a sales problem.

You have a cashflow problem.

And they're not the same thing.

Every week I speak to business owners who are making sales, working hard, and doing "all the right things"...

Yet they still feel stressed every time a bill arrives.

Why?

Because sales don't pay bills.

Cash does.

Without a cashflow system, you're left guessing:

❌ Can I afford to hire?
❌ Can I pay myself this month?
❌ How much GST should I have set aside?
❌ Why is there never enough left over?

That's not a business problem.

That's a cashflow problem.

The good news?

Cashflow isn't something you're born understanding.

It's a skill.

A system.

And one that can completely change the way you run your business.

Inside my Small Business Cashflow Course, I'll show you exactly how to understand where your money is going, what's coming next, and how to take back control of your finances.

Because feeling broke and actually being broke are often two very different things.

🚨 "ChatGPT told me it was a good idea."

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Here's what concerns me about the rise of AI in business...

It's not that AI gets things wrong. It's that it often sounds incredibly right.

Business owners are asking AI:

💰 Should I raise my prices?
👥 Can I afford to hire?
📈 Should I expand?
💳 Should I take on debt?
📊 Is my business profitable enough?

And the answers sound smart, logical, and convincing.

But here's the problem:

AI doesn't know your cashflow.

It doesn't know your debt.

It doesn't know your capacity.

It doesn't know your goals.

It doesn't know what keeps you awake at 2am.

And it certainly won't be there to deal with the consequences if the decision turns out badly.

In this week's podcast episode, I'm unpacking the dangerous truth about taking financial advice from AI, why context matters more than information, and the one question every business owner should ask before acting on an AI-generated answer.

Because AI can answer questions.

But it can't run your business.

Not deciding is a decision.
Staying the same is a strategy — whether you intended it or not.

In business, progress doesn’t stall because people don’t care.
It stalls because comfort feels easier than change.

But every day you don’t adjust:
• your pricing
• your systems
• your boundaries
• your habits

—you’re actively choosing the current result to continue.

Awareness isn’t pressure.
It’s power.

💬 Where might staying the same actually be a choice you’re ready to reconsider?

Delivering keeps the business running ... but it doesn’t always build security.

If there’s nothing left after delivery, long-term stability stays out of reach.

Try this:
➡️ Ask: What portion of income is meant to build buffer or profit?
➡️ If the answer is “whatever’s left”, that’s the issue.

Intent matters.

Without clear numbers in your business, every decision feels like a gamble.

But accountability doesn’t work like that.

In business, responsibility means owning your actions — not minimising them by criticising someone’s response.

Healthy relationships (clients, teams, partnerships) aren’t built on defensiveness.
They’re built on ownership, repair, and changed behaviour.

You’re allowed to respond when something isn’t right.
And you’re allowed to expect accountability, not excuses.

Growth requires responsibility — on both sides.

💬 What behaviour do you no longer justify or explain away?

Money comes in… and disappears just as fast.

And no one really talks about how frustrating that feels.

Because on paper? Things look like they’re working.

But in reality? You’re constantly questioning: “Where did it actually go?”

Most people assume this means they need to:
👉 Sell more
👉 Push harder
👉 Bring in more revenue

But that’s not what fixes this.

Because this isn’t about how much money is coming in.

It’s about when it’s coming in… and when it’s going out.

Cashflow isn’t just numbers. It’s timing.

And when you can’t see that timing clearly? It feels like money is disappearing.

This is the shift that changes everything.

When you map your cash properly… You stop feeling like money is slipping through your fingers

And start understanding exactly what’s happening inside your business.

If this is hitting a little too close to home…

👉 This is exactly what I walk you through inside the Small Business Cashflow Course .. starting from just $297
