The rules changed on 1 July 2026, and your compliance calendar needs to catch up.
Super is now due every payday, not quarterly, and must reach your employees' funds within 7 business days. The late lodgement penalty has risen to $364 per 28-day block. And interest on ATO debt is no longer tax-deductible, so an overdue BAS costs more than it used to.
We have updated our full guide to every ATO due date for 2026-27: quarterly BAS (and the extra month you get through a tax agent), income tax returns, FBT, TPAR, payday super and trust distribution deadlines, all in one calendar.
