As a business owner, you’re always trading time for money... or the other way around.

But here’s the question worth asking:
Which one is costing you more right now?

Are you:
– Spending hours on admin that could be automated?
– Chasing payments instead of focusing on growth?
– Putting off decisions because the numbers aren’t clear?
– Missing deductions or deadlines because things are disorganised?

It’s easy to stay in the cycle but a few small changes can free up both time and cash.

We help businesses streamline their systems, understand their finances, and focus on what they do best. Reach out today!

Still think monthly reports are just for ‘big’ businesses?
They’re not. They’re for smart ones.

Smart businesses want to:
– Know what’s actually making money
– Catch cash leaks before they hurt
– Make decisions based on facts, not vibes
– Grow without flying blind

It’s about clear info to help you stay in control.

You don’t need spreadsheets on spreadsheets.
You just need the right reports and someone who’ll explain them in plain English.

Want to see what that looks like for your business? Reach out today!

Want a finance habit that’s actually easy to stick to?
Here it is: check your transactions weekly.

Not monthly. Not quarterly. Weekly.

Why?
It keeps your books tidy. No more ‘what was this $187 expense?’ six months from now.
You’ll catch missed invoices, duplicate charges, or sneaky subscriptions before they get out of hand.
And it takes five minutes if you stay on top of it.

Set a calendar reminder.
Check what’s come in, what’s gone out, and quickly categorise your expenses.

It’s the habit that saves future you from messy books, missed deductions, and that ‘where did all the money go’ feeling.

The new financial year is your clean slate.
Fresh books. Fresh goals. Fresh chance to get it right.

If last year was a bit messy? Cool. You don’t need to drag that into this one. You can reset your:

Bookkeeping habits
Budget
Cash flow systems
How (and when) you pay yourself

It’s a chance to build a business that’s easier to run, easier to track, and easier to grow.

The best time to start? Now.

Need help setting up simple systems that actually stick?
We’re ready when you are.

If you’ve left your tax planning a little late… you’re not alone. 😅
But don’t write off the whole thing, there are still a few smart moves you can make before June 30:

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀
Things like rent, insurance, subscriptions or supplier invoices, bring them forward and claim this year.

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝘂𝗽 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿
Want the deduction? Your payment has to hit your fund before June 30. No extensions. No exceptions.

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀
Under $20k (ex GST)? You might be able to claim the full amount instantly if it’s installed and ready to use before EOFY.

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘁𝘀
If a client’s not going to pay you, don’t let it cost you tax. It needs to be written off by June 30 to count.

𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀
No, it’s not fun. But reconciling your books now = smoother lodgement, less back and forth, and fewer missed deductions.

Business owners, this is your EOFY nudge.

If you’re planning to buy tools, tech or gear, now’s the time to act.

- The instant asset write-off threshold is $20,000 (ex GST)
- It applies to eligible assets used in your business
- It’s only available until 30 June 2025

From 1 July, the threshold drops to just $1,000.
Which means if you don’t use it now, you likely lose it.

Here’s the catch:
The asset must be installed and ready for use by EOFY.

This deduction can seriously reduce your tax bill, but only if you play it smart.

Planning a purchase? Let’s make sure it ticks all the boxes before you tap the card.

Feeling maxed out? Thinking about hiring someone?
Before you post that job ad, let’s check the numbers.

Here’s what to ask yourself:
Can your business consistently afford the wage and the overhead?
Will hiring free you up to earn more, or will it just add pressure?
Is your cash flow steady enough to support growth?

Hiring is a big step and it shouldn’t be a panic response to burnout.

Not sure what the numbers say?
We’ll help you break it down with real clarity so you can hire with confidence (or get other support in the meantime).

The ATO is sharpening its focus this year, zeroing in on areas where mistakes are common, intentional or not. Here’s what’s on their radar...

Work-Related Expenses:
They’re scrutinising claims, especially for working from home. Ensure you have detailed records of hours worked and expenses incurred.

Rental Property Deductions:
With 90% of rental property owners making errors in their returns, the ATO is paying close attention to inflated claims and incorrect expense reporting.

Undeclared Income:
All income must be reported, including side gigs, freelance work, and sharing economy earnings. The ATO is matching data from various sources to catch omissions.

Cryptocurrency Transactions:
Crypto gains are taxable. The ATO is monitoring transactions to ensure they’re reported correctly.

Cash Payments & the Shadow Economy:
Businesses dealing heavily in cash are under scrutiny. The ATO is targeting unreported cash income and under-the-table payments.

Superannuation Compliance:
Employers are being watched for timely and correct super payments. Late or missing contributions are a red flag.

Stay Ahead:
✅ Keep thorough records
✅ Report all income
✅ Review deductions carefully
✅ Seek professional advice when in doubt

Need assistance navigating these areas? Our team at LXD is here to help ensure your compliance and peace of mind.

Most business owners follow this formula:
Revenue – Expenses = Whatever’s Left (Maybe Profit )

But the thing is “Whatever’s left” is not a strategy.
It’s survival mode.

The Profit First method flips the script:
Revenue – Profit = Expenses

That means you:
✅ Pay yourself first
✅ Allocate money to profit, tax & your wage
✅ Run your business on what’s left (instead of overspending and hoping for the best)

It’s simple, powerful, and it works.
Even starting with just 1% profit allocation builds momentum.

Want to stop feeling broke in a profitable business?
Start putting Profit First. You’re the one building it, you should be paid.
