I shared a story of one of my favourite pieces – a leather case with the Flower of Life embossed into it, then had stained in Timber brown dye. A beautiful, purposeful design.
That story reached 16 people. Six interacted.
All of them were already close friends and part of my community. Thanking you 6! 🫶
And here’s the strange part: after 12 years on this platform and “3,000”, it made me realise something. Instagram isn’t really about connection anymore. It’s about feeding the machine.
For me, making a living through arty craftiness has always been about purpose and creating something authentic. But this space… more often than not, it feels like a distraction tool rather than a place that allows creativity to reach a wider audience. Or pay 🆙 💰
I’ll keep creating, keep sharing—but more importantly, I’ll keep seeking spaces where the work can truly connect with people.
Because connection > algorithms.
