Big changes are coming for Australian businesses from 1 October 2026.

The new Australian card surcharge ban means businesses will no longer be able to apply payment surcharges on eligible eftpos, Visa and Mastercard debit, prepaid and credit card transactions.

Now's a good time to check your surcharge settings — terminal, online booking, invoicing, so everything's ready before October.

We're off!

Today, our team is taking on the 50km Coastrek challenge in support of Beyond Blue.

It's going to be a long day with some sore legs, but it's all for a cause that's close to our hearts.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Alex Peckham into the ownership group of McKern & Associates as our newest Partner. 🎉

Alex joined us almost a decade ago after a semi-professional rugby union career and time working in his family’s engineering business.

During the time he has been with us his technical skills have grown, his confidence has built and he has also earned the Chartered Accountant designation through the gruelling post grad diploma process. Outside of work Grace and Alex have welcomed Archie and Lennox to the family and have moved to Terranora.

His appointment reflects not only his professional growth, but also the dedication he brings to our clients and our team every day. 👏

Our team attended the Syft Analytics workshop at Mantra Hotels, where we explored powerful ways of turning financial data into meaningful business insights.

It was a full day of hands-on learning with live data. We looked at custom dashboards and automated reporting from Xero, including budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking,
