We’re officially 5 weeks out from EOFY✨️

But this isn’t an annual “panic” post 😅

This is your reminder that gets a whole lot easier when you tackle small things consistently instead of leaving everything until later.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share simple, practical tasks you can do now to get yourself into a better position by June 30 and help you plan more clearly for the new financial year ahead.

No overwhelm.
No accountant jargon.
Just helpful reminders from people who care about your business as much as you do.

Because good EOFY prep isn’t about scrambling at the last minute.
It’s about staying organised enough that June doesn’t completely ruin your nervous system.

EOFY is much less stressful when you tackle it in small steps instead of one giant panic.

What’s your biggest EOFY procrastination task right now?

Let’s do this.

This photo was taken at my desk back in 2019, and like many of us, I had no idea how much the world was about to change.

It has been a while since I properly introduced myself here, so I thought I would pop in and say hello.

I’m Rebecca Francis, founder of Alaco White.

With over 20+ years working with Australian businesses, I know accounting is about far more than tax returns and compliance. It is about helping people feel clearer, more organised, and more confident in where their business is heading.

One of the things I value most is being able to live and work within the Bunyip community. Supporting local businesses and the people behind them is a big part of why I do what I do.

At Alaco White, I focus on ongoing support throughout the year, not just at tax time.

As we head into a new quarter, this long weekend is a good chance to pause and reset.

Step back.
Recharge.

Reconnect with what you actually want from your business this year.

We’ll be back soon, ready to help you get clear on your numbers and move forward with confidence.

Do you feel in control of your numbers, or just up to date?

If your BAS is lodged and payroll is run… you may feel you're on top of things.

Time to play Money Mythbusters.
Myth 2: if the BAS is lodged and payroll is run, everything is under control.

Most business owners stay on top of deadlines.
But compliance is the baseline, not the full picture.

Clarity comes from understanding trends, forecasting obligations, and making informed decisions before deadlines arrive.

🤔 For greater clarity and consistent progress, consider our budget-conscious monthly package, with regular check-ins and predictable monthly billing.

Time to play Money Myth Busters.
“Revenue is booming, so the business must be doing great.”
If only it were that simple.

Revenue is the loudest number in business.

It is also the easiest one to misunderstand.
Because revenue does not tell you
• if your margins are shrinking
• if your cash flow is tight
• or if the money has actually landed in your bank yet.

You can have impressive revenue and still feel financial pressure behind the scenes.

That is why accountants look beyond the headline number to what is really happening underneath.

This is the first post in our Money Myths series, where we challenge common assumptions about business finances.

Question: Have you ever had a year where revenue looked great but the business still felt tight?

04/03/2026

Some business ideas get repeated so often they start to feel like facts. But many of them are simply money myths.

Assumptions about revenue, growth, tax, planning, and financial control can quietly shape the way businesses make decisions.

And sometimes those assumptions hold people back more than they realise.

Over the next four Mondays, we will challenge some of the most common money myths we see in business.

Because better financial decisions start with better financial clarity.

Do you have a money myth you would like us to challenge?
Let us know and we might feature it in the series.

In business, it’s rarely the big decisions that cause the most friction.

It’s the small ones that get delayed, avoided, or left vague.
Things like:
• when to follow up an invoice
• whether to increase prices slightly
• asking a question sooner rather than later
• tightening one process instead of overhauling everything

These decisions don’t feel urgent, so they often get pushed aside.
But over time, they’re the ones that shape cashflow, confidence, and momentum.

If something feels stuck right now, it’s usually not because you need a bigger plan.

It’s because one small decision is waiting to be made.

💬 What’s a small decision you’ve been putting off that would make things feel clearer?
