A tax deduction doesn't mean something is free.

So before you start wandering around Bunnings looking for $19,999 worth of stuff you don't actually need, stop and think about whether the purchase makes sense for your business.

Then, ideally, talk to your accountant before you buy it. 😉

Because the best tax strategy isn't spending money just to save tax. It's making smart decisions with your money.

🧮 TAX MYTH OR TAX FACT?

MYTH:
“If I buy something before June 30, I automatically get the whole thing back.” 💸

FACT:
A tax deduction isn't a dollar-for-dollar refund.

Spending $10,000 doesn't mean the ATO is handing you $10,000 back.

A deduction can reduce your taxable income, but the actual tax benefit depends on your circumstances, including things like your business structure, income and the type of expense.

So before you rush out and buy something just to get a tax deduction, stop and ask:

“Would I still buy this if there was no tax benefit?”

If the answer is no, it might be worth having a chat with your accountant first. 😉
