If you claim 90% of your rent, you are telling the IRS that you do not sleep, eat, shower, or watch TV in 90% of your home.
Unless you sleep in the bathtub and work in the other 4 rooms, this deduction will get denied immediately.

The Truth: A down payment is NOT an expense. It is a transfer of assets. You are trading Cash for Equity.
If you buy a stock for $100, you can't tell the IRS you "lost" $100. It's the same with a house.
Let's keep striving for accuracy.
