“Even the most brilliant technology will fail if people don’t believe in it.”

At the Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future webinar, Leke Akinkumi, a fintech policy expert and former CBN executive, reminded us that financial inclusion is not just about digital access. It’s about emotional infrastructure.

“Trust, not tech, is what will drive the next chapter of inclusion.”

For many Nigerians, especially in rural areas, fintech platforms have yet to prove they’re reliable.

And when basic things like airtime purchases fail or POS terminals go down, trust erodes fast.

Leke’s call to action?

Let’s build systems people can believe in. Let’s prioritize consistency over complexity.

And let’s remember that the future of finance depends not just on what we build, but how people experience it.

“Trust, not tech, is what will drive the next chapter of inclusion.” – Leke Akinkunmi

At Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future, Leke cut through the noise with honesty and clarity.

Despite Nigeria’s fintech growth, 28.8 million adults remain excluded; not because they lack tools, but because they lack trust.

What does true progress look like?

Not new apps. Not big launches. But consistency, empathy, and access that works.

Read why Leke says the real infrastructure we need isn’t more servers—it’s trust, reliability, and human-first design →

"We have the brains, we have the data, what we lack is the collective will to see things through"

At the Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future webinar, Mary Njoki laid it bare:
Africa isn’t short on ideas. Or talent. Or technology.
What we’re short on is follow-through.

Mary’s message wasn’t harsh; it was honest.
We’ve mastered the conversation. Now, it’s time to master ex*****on.

Real impact won’t come from another webinar.
It will come from collective will, the courage to implement, to deliver and to finish what we start.

📌 ADFS 2025 is coming. Let it be a turning point.

“We’re not short on ideas. We’re short on ex*****on.” – Mary Njoki

From the stage of the Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future webinar, Mary Njoki delivered what may have been the most urgent reminder of the day: Africa doesn’t need more fintech conversations, it needs implementation.

She didn’t just challenge the audience. She challenged the ecosystem.

Policy without progress is noise. and hashtags without follow-through are hollow.

Africa needs:

✅ Political will
✅ Regional collaboration
✅ Public accountability
✅ Practical solidarity

“Inclusion isn't about squeezing people into broken systems. It's about redesigning those systems—with them in mind.”

At the Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future webinar, Yinka Edu didn’t mince words. She reminded us that financial exclusion isn’t theoretical—it’s lived. For the woman selling vegetables who can’t access her savings, the problem isn’t innovation. It’s access. It’s distance. It’s disconnection.

Her call? Let’s stop designing fintech for the ideal. Let’s build for the real—those without digital IDs, smartphones, or steady incomes.
That’s how we move from digital ambition to true inclusion.

Are we ready to meet people where they are?

"She wanted to save. The system shut her out.

In a country hailed as a fintech leader, too many Nigerians are still excluded from the tools designed to empower them. At the recent 'Shaping Nigeria’s Digital Future' webinar, fintech lawyer Yinka Edu called out the broken links in our ecosystem—and challenged us to stop designing for ideals, and start building for reality."
