What are some inaccuracies to look for on your credit report??
️⃣ Inconsistent account numbers
️⃣ Inconsistent open dates
️⃣ Collection accounts being marked as “open”
️⃣ A charged off account reporting as “past due” balance
️⃣ Accounts included in a bankruptcy listing balances on credit report. They must report as $0 balances.
️⃣ Incorrect open dates. For example, if you are 18 years old, they should not have accounts being reported as opening before your 18th birthday unless you are listed as an unauthorized user.
️⃣ Consolidated student loans still reporting as “open” with balances
️⃣ Repossessed vehicle was sold by the bank but the balance on the credit report was not updated to reflect new amount owed.
️⃣ Minimum monthly payment for revolving credit cards reporting inaccurately
🔟 Unpaid medical bills being reported less than 180 days from due date. There is a 1 year waiting period that must pass before unpaid medical bills show up on your credit report. The “open date” will let you know when the 180-day timer began.
