**🚗 Business Owners: Your 2026 Mileage Rate Just Changed**

If you use your vehicle for business, there’s an important mid-year IRS update to know about.

Starting **July 1, 2026, the standard business mileage rate increased**, which means you’ll need to use **two different mileage rates when calculating your 2026 deduction.**

A few reminders to help you make the most of your vehicle deduction:

📍 **Track your mileage** — Keep a log with the date, destination, business purpose, and miles driven.

📍 **Know what counts** — Client meetings, job sites, networking events, bank deposits, supply runs, and travel between business locations may qualify. Your regular commute generally does not.

📍 **Don’t forget tolls & parking** — Business-related parking and tolls can generally be deducted separately from the standard mileage rate.

📍 **Separate business and personal miles** — Keeping accurate records makes tax time much easier.

📍 **Compare your options** — The standard mileage method isn’t always the best choice. Depending on your vehicle and expenses, the actual expense method could give you a larger deduction.
