People everywhere are saying that if the custodial parent puts the noncustodial parent on child support, the custodial parent will no longer be able to claim their children on their taxes. This is straight from the IRS. The only way the noncustodial parent would be able to claim the children would be with the permission of the custodial parent. There is a form the custodial parent fills out to make that happen. Form 8332. Please don't let gossip put fear in you, come to a knowledgeable tax professional for advice.
