The Primary Residence Credit allows North Dakota homeowners to apply annually for a state property tax credit through the ND Office of State Tax Commissioner.

Residents must reapply each year to continue receiving the credit. Click the link in our comments for more info!

✔️ Qualifying homeowners may receive up to $1,600 toward property taxes.
✔️ Must own and live in the home as a primary residence (homes in trusts qualify).
✔️ No age or income limits.
✔️ One credit per household.

🏠 Application Period Approaching

Applications for the Homestead Tax Credit will be accepted beginning January 1, 2026, through March 31, 2026.

If you are 65 years of age or older or if you are permanently and totally disabled on a limited income, the City of West Fargo participates in the Homestead Tax Credit program to help you with payment of your taxes. Qualified homeowners may receive a credit to reduce their property taxes on their home.
