We live in a debt-based society.

We do not move at the speed of cash. We move at the speed of debt.

It is a microwave mindset. I want it now. The car. The house. The purse. The shoes. Whatever your thing is, we all have one.

And last week, I wanted a car so bad I had to pray for contentment.

I told God, please give me a spirit of contentment so I do not do anything stupid. Calm me down.

Because I was already trying to make it happen right then and there, but it was not the way God and I had already talked about.

That is the part we have to be honest about.

Sometimes the purchase is not the problem. The impatience is.

So pause. Pray. Get aligned. Then decide.

If you are paying for staging and showing costs, that is deductible. There is no $25 limit on that.

If you spend money to make money, and it is a real business expense, it is deductible.

Even things people overlook, like a home warranty in the right situation. That is not stuck under some random $25 rule either.

And branded apparel counts too. Polos, jackets, name tags, hats. If it is branded and truly business-related, it can be deductible.

But it has to be branded.

Because regular clothes are not deductible for most realtors. If you can wear it to a birthday party, a family event, or anywhere else, it is personal.

Uniforms are different in certain industries, like nurses wearing scrubs.

And do not forget education and coaching. If it supports your business and is tied to your work, that is something to track too.

The key is simple. Business use. Clear purpose. Good documentation.

I am going to be honest. I do not know if I am the one to speak on a $50,000 wedding, because that number is wild to me.

Do you know what I can do with $50,000?

I understand him wanting to protect his money if you are spending like it is water. Booking a $3,000 vendor without consulting him is a big expense. That is a conversation first, not an announcement after.

You can have a dream wedding without it costing $50,000, even without it costing $30,000.

Personally, I would take $10,000, have a very nice wedding, then put the rest toward building life together. House goals. Emergency fund. Debt. Something that lasts longer than one day.

Because the wedding is one day.

Marriage is the investment.

Most business owners know what they make.

But they cannot always clearly explain where the money went.

That is why a financial audit matters.

It helps you slow down and look at what is really happening inside the business. Not just what came in, but what went out, what keeps repeating, and what may no longer be serving the business.

Because money usually does not disappear all at once.

It leaves through small habits, recurring charges, overlooked expenses, and decisions that were never reviewed.

And over time, those small leaks can affect cash flow, profitability, and peace of mind.

Financial clarity starts with awareness.

Tracking mileage changes everything.

Because at the end of the year, you can say, I drove 40,000 miles, and 80% was for business.

And yes, it still blows my mind how much real estate agents drive. Normal people do not drive that much.

But when you have the numbers, we can do it the right way. We can allocate the correct business portion.

And once the vehicle is clearly used for business, a lot of the costs tied to that business use become deductible.

Gas. Repairs. Tires. Alignments. Rotations. All those little things they try to upsell you on.

It adds up fast.

But it only helps you if you track it and keep up with it. Because deductions are not based on memory. They are based on records.

Right now, the bigger issue is not just money. It is maturity and communication.

A successful marriage needs emotional maturity, clear communication, and follow through. And finances need stability, especially if one person is wired for security.

And yes, $50,000 for a wedding is insane to me. Period.

So you need to have the hard discussions before you get married.

Talk to a marriage counselor. Get aligned. Get on one accord. Then follow through on the solution you agree to.

He also has to be willing to grow in trust when it is appropriate, and you have to be willing to build stability and transparency.

And he needs to be clear about how he plans to show up as a husband, not just a fiancรฉ.

Because there is a difference.

From a Biblical point of view, marriage comes with responsibilities. Not just paperwork. Not just vibes. Responsibilities.

Do not walk into marriage hoping it will fix what you will not talk about now.
