December 30 is too late for most of these to be completed in time to count for the year 2026.
Here are five money moves that may be worth making in November, while there's still time to do something about them.
1. Check your beneficiary forms. On IRAs, 401(k)s and life insurance, the form usually decides who inherits what.
2. Take your RMD. If you're 73 or older, it generally needs to be completed by December 31.
3. Talk through a Roth conversion. Some years can make more sense to convert more than others.
4. Plan your giving. Gifts generally need to be made by December 31.
5. Review your Medicare plan. Open enrollment runs October 15 to December 7.
Not every move fits every situation. That's what a plan is for.
