Do you have a budget? Setting goals (money or life) is the first step to getting where you want to be. Have a discussion with your partner on what you both want. Focus on one or two goals you agree on. Then sit down and figure out what it will take to get you there. Making a budget is just the beginning. Are you planning your summer vacation?
Is your budget tight, do you still have debt to pay off? Have you considered a Stay-Cation? Do some research in your area, there are many hidden gems that we locals never visit. Build memories with your family by spending time at local parks, street fairs, museums, camping in your own backyard and hiking. Start planning for next year’s vacation now, by setting aside money in the budget.

Are you debt free and ready to go on that “vacation” you and the family have been dreaming of? Remember to make a plan, save up and go somewhere debt-free and enjoy yourselves!!! There are a few things you can do on your vacation to help save money.

1. Make a check list to make sure you pack everything, nothing worse than having to purchase a bathing suit at a resort.
2. Purchase sunscreen at home and don’t forget to take it.
3. Take your own snacks/drinks (buy in bulk before you leave or as soon as you arrive)
4. Give the kids a budget for Souvenirs
5. Who is taking care of the animals, do you have a responsible teenager in the neighborhood? Pet care is very expensive these days.
6. Are you driving? Make sure you have your car checked out and all maintenance taken care of before you leave.
7. FINALLY expect the UNEXPECTED, budget for this…

Most of all focus on the family and make memories.
