Hello FB family and friends. Happy first day of June!

As summer begins, it's a good reminder of why many people save and invest in the first place:
More time with family.
More opportunities to travel.
More flexibility.
More freedom to spend your time doing what matters most.

Retirement isn't simply about reaching a certain account balance. It's about creating the ability to enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build.

A thoughtful financial plan can help turn long-term goals into future opportunities. Whether retirement is right around the corner or still years away, staying focused on your plan today can help create more choices tomorrow. If you'd like to review your retirement strategy or discuss your long-term goals, reach out to me. As always, I'm happy to help.

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. Wishing everyone a meaningful and safe Memorial Day as we reflect with gratitude and respect.

Hello Facebook family and friends. Happy May 1st!

There’s an old phrase in investing: “Sell in May and go away.”

Historically, the May through October stretch has delivered weaker returns than the November through April period. But markets don’t follow calendars. They follow fundamentals, policy, and investor behavior.

This year, we’re seeing a more selective environment with pockets of strength alongside increased volatility. That tends to reward discipline over broad exposure. Rather than reacting to seasonality, it’s a good time to stay focused on positioning, risk management, and long-term objectives.

If you haven’t reviewed your strategy recently, this may be an appropriate time to do so. Call me. (412)965-2606. As always, I’m happy to help.

Hello FB family and friends! This is kind of wild to look back at…
Exactly one year ago yesterday, the S&P 500 was down -13.74% YTD (year to date). People were seriously worried. But by the end of the year…. it finished up +17.9%!!

Now here we are. As of yesterday, the S&P 500 is down about -3.52% YTD… and I’m hearing some of the same concerns again.

This is exactly how the market works. It doesn’t move in a straight line. One of the biggest mistakes investors make is overreacting.

If your plan is built for the long term, this is just part of the process. Stay patient. Stay disciplined. And if you need anything, feel free to call me - (412) 965-2606. As always, I’m happy to help!

Hello Facebook family and friends. Happy April Fools’ Day!

The biggest “joke” I see in investing this time of year? Thinking that a strong month—or a volatile one—should change your entire strategy.

April has historically been a solid month for the market, but recent volatility is a good reminder that short-term performance can be misleading.

Short-term market moves—up or down—aren’t what drive long-term success. What matters is whether your portfolio is aligned with your long-term goals.
That’s the difference between reacting… and actually having a plan.

If you haven’t looked at your portfolio through that lens recently, this is a great time to do it. Feel free to call me (412) 965-2606. As always, I’m happy to help!

Hello Facebook family and friends. I’m excited to share that I’ve officially earned my CRPC™ (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™) designation!
This wasn’t something I took lightly. I spent the last three months studying consistently, and the final exam itself was a 3-hour test.
I chose to pursue this because I want to continue sharpening my knowledge and better serve the families I work with, especially when it comes to retirement planning, income strategies, and navigating major financial decisions. I’m always working to improve and grow. If you ever want a second opinion on your plan, call me. As always, I’m happy to help.

Hello Facebook friends and family!
Here’s what I told a client yesterday :
“The biggest risk to most portfolios isn’t the market — it’s emotional decision making.”
Markets will always have ups and downs. The key is having a plan in place that helps you stay disciplined during volatile moments instead of reacting to short-term headlines.
A well-built strategy should give you confidence no matter what the market is doing.
If you’d ever like a second opinion on your current investment strategy, feel free to reach out. (412) 965-2606
As always, I’m happy to help!

Temu Emu and Doug!

(Haters will say it’s fake. 😂)

We take your financial future seriously—even if we don't always take ourselves that way. Just trying to keep things light, because we know the market volatility in the news lately can feel heavy.

Here’s the truth: The headlines change every hour, but a well-built financial plan shouldn't. When you have a clear strategy in place, volatility isn't a reason to panic. It’s just part of the journey. We’re here to help you stay focused on the horizon, even when the waves get choppy. If you’re concerned about how your portfolio is performing in this market volatility, give me a call. (412)965-2606. As always, I’m happy to help.

Hello, FB family and friends. Welcome to March! The first quarter is moving quickly, and this is usually the time of year when investors start asking: Is this how the rest of the year is going to go?

Markets have digested early earnings reports, inflation data, and interest rate expectations; and just like Pittsburgh weather in March, conditions can shift quickly.
This month, I’m watching:
• Inflation trends and any shifts in the interest rate outlook
• Bond yields and what they’re signaling about the economy
• Market breadth — whether gains are broadening or concentrated
• Investor sentiment versus economic reality

The goal isn’t to predict every market move. It’s to stay disciplined, keep portfolios aligned with long-term objectives, and make thoughtful adjustments when appropriate — not emotional ones.

If you’d like to review your retirement plan and make sure it’s positioned appropriately for 2026, feel free to reach out at (412) 965-2606. As always, I’m happy to help.
