Tax day might have come and gone, but Michael is still hard at work. While I was preparing a “breakfast board” (our children’s favorite way to eat *any* meal), I observed a deep symbolism sitting right in front of me.

Balance and connection. Apples, Nutella, granola, and cheese (not pictured) - balance. A client gifted cutting board with cement truck supervision - connection.

Maybe it’s a stretch, but I’m feeling sentimental. ☺️ We’re grateful to be in community with each of you, helping to find and walk the balance all while staying connected.

This is our most frequently asked question, and we LOVE IT. It just means that the folks who sit down with us mean business.

Here's what Michael recommends people prepare for the tax review:
-last year's tax return (federal AND state)
-anything that was bought or sold (house, boat, business, etc.)
-any businesses opened or closed
-any significant medical expensers
-any expense that is child related (childcare, schooling, college, etc.)
-RMDs or if you turned 73

This list could go on, so if you have additional questions, reach out! We'd love to help.

We all know Michael's in favor of saying "it depends..." but for this FAQ he was immediate and firm in his answer! Any time a tax software starts asking you questions, it's time to connect with a tax professional.

See, tax software is designed to (understandably) protect the company, and may lead you through a series of questions that could take you down the wrong path for you (and even cost you extra money!).
