As 2025 comes to a close, we wanted to share a little holiday cheer and some exciting updates from Parkers Prairie Tax Service designed to make your 2026 tax experience even smoother.

We’ve refreshed our website with more helpful client information — and we’ve also launched a secure, easy-to-use client portal powered by TaxDome. This platform will help keep your documents organized, your communication secure, and your tax process more streamlined than ever.

👉 Watch this quick Loom video to see the new website features and how TaxDome works: https://www.loom.com/share/7fedc3f88be845859807688ce4c1a036

What we’d love for you to do next:
• Activate your TaxDome portal access (it’s quick and secure).
• Take a few minutes to explore the portal and get familiar with its features before tax season begins.
While using TaxDome isn’t required yet — and you can absolutely continue with our traditional methods as outline in our 2025 Year End Newsletter — going forward we’ll be using the portal as our primary way to share messages, send missing document requests, and keep everything in one secure place. This helps protect your sensitive information and keeps everything easy to find when you need it.

If you need help getting started, we’ve put together a simple guide to help you log in for the first time:

Please Beware:

This was posted by a law enforcement agency in the mid west and I am curious if any members here have seen this scam:

“Beware of Brushing Scam!

A recent scam has been showing up in many states. We have not had any local reports, but want to make residents aware before you are victimized.

A "brushing" scam is when someone receives an unexpected gift or item not ordered in the mail from a place like Amazon or other company. Examples of gifts include, rings, bracelets, necklaces, Bluetooth speaker, etc. The gift will have the recipient’s address, but not include the sender's information or be from a known retailer. When the recipient opens the package to see what it is and possibly who sent it, there is a QR code to scan to find out who sent the gift.

Once the code is scanned, all the information from that phone will be sent to scammers. They receive all access to the phone. All personal and financial information is accessible to the scammers and often the victim's bank accounts are drained.

The gift can be kept or thrown away, but the QR code should NOT be scanned for any reason. QR code scams are nothing new. These scams show up in all places, including parking meters.

Inform your family members about the scam and avoid scanning any unknown QR codes included in the package.”
