What Code 1243 Typically Means

Most commonly, Code 1243 signals one of these situations:

IRS Code 570 holding your refund hostage? Here’s what that REALLY means…

If you checked your transcript and saw Code 570. Additional Account Action Pending, your refund didn’t disappear it’s just temporarily frozen while the IRS reviews something on your account.

That could be income verification, credit review, identity verification, or another processing hold.

Don’t panic. Don’t keep amending. Don’t start pressing random buttons. Check your transcript, watch for a 971 notice code, and wait for the IRS or your tax professional to guide the next step.
