If you used a prepaid bank like Chime, Cashapp, OnePay, etc... you most likely won't see your refund until the DAY of your Deposit! Your tax preparer, their funding bank or the IRS has NOTHING to do with your refund being released..... IT'S UP TO YOUR BANK TO RELEASE THE FUNDS!

Keep in mind those banking systems are experiencing an overload this week and needs time to send everyone's deposits!

You see your date, your refund is coming! Just try to relax!

Next year when I'm contacted by individuals who only have a dependent and $500 on a w2, I'm referring them to a VITA site!! You want help, advice and direction but don't want to pay.... they offer FREE services with certified tax preparers there.. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Business IS and WILL ALWAYS be JUST BUSINESS!!!

Ok, W2 Employees: THIS IS WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO FIX YOUR W4 FOR YOUR FEDERAL INCOME TAX WITHHOLDING!

Your deduction for personal exemptions is SUSPENDED permanently (via OBBBA)
THIS RULE WAS ORIGINALLY PART OF THE TCJA of 2017 & was set to expire in December 2025!

What this means: Going forward, your employer will NOT withhold federal income tax withholding from your paychecks (BOX 2 on the w2) if you select HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD or MARRIED FILING JOINT on your w4 or if you check you are EXEMPT from federal tax or if you select you have multiple jobs and you're paying federal tax withholding at the other jobs!

What you NEED to do: Request a new W4, complete your basic info (name, ssn and address), check Single as your filing status, select you are NOT exempt and submit the new form!

The amount of workers who underpaid federal taxes this year is unbelievable! Hopefully next tax season, it'll be larger refunds because your credits won't have to be used to pay your tax liability!
