This is a very important development. We generally ask for official bank instructions or a voided check to include on your return. Once a tax return is filed with a direct deposit refund, the account information CANNOT be changed. Its important to get it right the first time, because there are not second chances. This change will make ensuring the accuracy of this info even more crucial as it will eventually be the only option. Plan with your tax preparer sooner rather than later.
