Traffic Advisory Notice – Saturday, April 4, 2026

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the area surrounding Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday, April 4, 2026, due to a large-scale event being held on the property.

The “Diesels of New York Truck Event” is expected to draw significant attendance, resulting in heavy traffic congestion throughout the day. The following roadways are likely to be impacted:
• Route 211
• East Main Street
• Carpenter Avenue
• Wisner Avenue
• Schutt Road

Regarding the proposed water district consolidation in Wawayanda: I want to clarify a few points. This decision would ONLY impact residents who live within one of the five established water districts—not the entire town. The Town Board remains committed to transparency and has shared materials, including cost comparisons and consolidation scenarios. The Town Board has reached out to encourage all affected residents to contact the Supervisor's office directly with questions or to share your opinions on this matter if they are unable to attend the meeting. We are committed to providing more details and addressing concerns transparently which is the reason for a second informational meeting. That said, the public info meeting tomorrow (Feb 19 at 7 PM, Shannen Park) is a great chance to learn more and voice your thoughts.
