Two Incomes or Two Jobs? Don’t Forget to Check Your Withholding!
If your household has two incomes, two jobs, or any IRA or 401(k) distributions, now’s a good time to double-check your federal withholding.
When both spouses work—or one person has multiple jobs—each employer withholds taxes as if that job is the only source of income. Add in retirement withdrawals, and it’s easy to come up short at tax time.
✅ Make sure both W-4s include Step 2 (“two jobs” box)
✅ Claim dependents on only one W-4
✅ Review IRA, 401(k), or pension distributions for proper withholding
If you’d like me to take a quick look at your current withholdings to help avoid a surprise next spring, just send me an email.
Additional fees may apply for detailed tax planning or withholding analysis.
