IRS has not announced when e-filing will reopen for 2026 filing season (2025 tax year). The work week beginning Monday 1/26/26 is what I anticipate from experience.

Note that every year EIC and Child Tax Credit recipients typically get their returns held until mid-February.

Everyone else can expect theirs within 3 weeks from the date of acceptance. Filing early gets you in on that first batch when processing begins.
