Veterinary practice owners: If your associate's production pay is complicated, your payroll shouldn't be a monthly guessing game.

Veterinarians, is your practice bringing in more revenue but somehow leaving you with less money? That's worth paying attention to.

If your business had a slow month, would you know exactly what numbers caused it?

The pain point opener
You went to vet school to treat animals, not to reconcile a Cornerstone export against your bank feed at 10pm.

Yet here you are.

Most practice owners I talk to aren't bad with money. They're just out of hours. The books slide, month-end becomes quarter-end, and suddenly you're making staffing and equipment decisions based on a gut feeling instead of real numbers.

That's the part I take off your plate. Clean, current books every month so you can get back to the work you actually trained for.

Most vet practice owners can't tell me what drugs and supplies cost them last month as a share of revenue.

Not because they're careless. Because their books lump everything into one "supplies" line.

Pharmacy and supplies are one of the biggest expenses in any practice. If that number is creeping up, it could be pricing, shrinkage, over-ordering or vendor changes, and you can't find the leak without the right categories.

I set up veterinary books so you can see exactly where the money goes, every month.

Myth vs. reality
Myth: "My practice management software handles my accounting."
Reality: Your PIMS tracks invoices, appointments and inventory. It doesn't reconcile your bank accounts, categorize expenses, handle payroll liabilities, or tell you whether you actually made money last month.
The two systems need to talk to each other, and someone needs to make sure they agree. That's where a bookkeeper who knows veterinary workflows earns their keep. See less

Selling someday?
Thinking about selling your practice in the next 5 to 10 years, whether to a corporate group or a younger vet?

Buyers look hard at your financials. Messy books, personal expenses mixed in, and unexplained swings all make a buyer nervous, and nervous buyers offer less.

Clean books aren't just about tax time. They're about protecting what you've spent your career building. The best time to start is years before you list.
